It looks like your Christmas arrived early! So, what’s the process now…and dont tell me you have to take them out of the boxes…serious question what is the chain of events from box to classroom?
(and how much coffee & chocolate is required??)

The Plan:

• Build a “Ghost Image” for each style of PC. The JS ones have different software to the SS ones etc.

• Move the PC’s to where they are going, so far 25 of the 89 have been moved and unpacked.

• Re-Image the PC’s using Ghost

• Done.

Now, add to this:

• The Switch in SS (original part) needs to be replaced.

• We are replacing our File/Print Servers (\\jairus & \\asher) and therefore need to move all of the Data across once we have built and configured the 4 new Servers.

• We can’t finish building the ghost images until the Servers are finished as some details point to relative spots on the Servers.

• We need to build an updated image for the MS & JS Laptop Pod’s and re-image them all.

• We need to build updated images for the rest of the Computers and re-image them too.

• We are putting 3 new Wireless Access Points in JS, and need to run cables for them.

• We are upgrading the SLC Mezzanine into an ESL Classroom, 8pc’s Data Projector and Screen. Cabling for this is being done 7-11/01/08.

• Cabling for the new lab in SS-1 is also being done this week.

• I need to build the images for the 2 new laptop models M700 and M9, and we don’t know when we will get the Laptops to build the images on. Normally this would have been done and sent back to Melbourne by now.

• + all the stuff I’ve forgotten.

So when we sit back and look at this all, and remember that I have 8 working days until I go to Gosford, then 1 day after I get back until staff come back to work…

I think it will be 8 very long days!

Nope.

I have just finished moving the new Servers into my Office and they are all up and running. Yay!

Tomorrow I’ll move everyones data across and configure the log on scripts to point to the correct spots.

Me thinks Saturday, Sunday, and Monday will be spent here too,

As it is it’s now 9:55pm – time to go home.

Well, Senior School is all but finished. The 8 new PC’s are in IT-C, IT-B has been re-imaged with the 2008 Goodies (including Visual Studio & PopFly Explorer, Microsoft Robotics Studio, Soccer & Sumo simulations, and will connect to our Lego NTX Bricks as well), 3 new PC’s are in the Staff Room, and 20 unpacked ready to go in SS-1 once the cabling is completed, and there are 5 for TAS 2 once there’s room for them to be set up.

MS needs 3 PC’s set up and then all 10 Classroom PC’s re-imaged. Then the LAptop Pod needs to have its image updated and rolled out.

JS has all of the PC’s moved into their rooms but still needs them to be unpacked and imaged. This I will tackle tomorrow. Not sure if my labourer will be there, but thats another issue. Need to run cables in Stage 1 and stage 2 buildings for Wireless Access Points (ceiling mounted). The JS Pods both need re-imaging once the Ghost Image has been finalised.

Student Resources need 2 PC’s setting up and re-imaging.

The Library needs an extra PC setting up in the Office (once cabling’s completed) and the 8 unpacked and re-imaged for the International Students Lab.

Admin needs a few set up here and there and re-imaged.

I have forced myself to have today off. when I look at the to do list its hard to sit here, but alas, I am but human and need my rest.
